Norma Louise Eckert of San Saba, formerly of Slaton, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at the age of 90.

Norma was born on October 15, 1917 in Haskell, Texas to Edward and Ibera Anderson. She married R.D. Eckert in Lometa in 1940. Mr. Eckert died June 17, 1967.

Norma is survived by three daughters: Marie Cook and husband, Jeff, of Cashion, AZ; Marian Harrell of San Saba; and Jean Shelton and husband, Tommy, of Portales, N.M.; four sons: Victor Eckert and wife, Kenna, of Buchanan Dam, TX; Dan Eckert of Austin; Joe Ed Eckert and wife, Connie, of Stinnett, TX; and Paul Eckert of Cortez, CO. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Englund's Chapel in Slaton. Charles Hastings of Lubbock officiated. Burial was in Resthaven Cemetery in Southland, Texas under the direction of Englund's Funeral Home in Slaton.
