San Saba High School Tennis Report

The Tennis Team played in the Fredericksburg J.V. Invitational on February 17, and the Waco Robinson Invitational Tennis Tournament on February 18. Players playing in the Fredericksburg J.V. were Joely Haverland, Allison Nettleship, Kristen Isham, Jairo Casco, Jonathan Ramirez, Max Palicio, Allison Christian,Josie Dawson, Marissa Anaya, J.T. Holland, Diego Lara and Aaron Krueger. Diego Lara and Aaron Krueger won consolation in Division II Boys Doubles. Teams playing in the tournament were Bandera, Boerne, Brady, Center Point, Dripping Springs, Marble Falls Faith Academy, Floresville, Hondo, Ingram, Junction, Kerrville, Llano, Mason, Medina, Menard, San Saba, Utopia, Uvalde and Wimberley.

On Friday, February 18

th the varsity played in the Waco Robinson Invitational. Players playing in the tournament were Diego Gonzalez, Kobe Cisneroz, Houston Casco, Josh Raiford, Regan Hartranft, Morgan Jimenez, Marshall McIntosh, B.J. Harbour, Lauren Dawson, Heather Wilcox and Jose Vega. Houston Casco and Josh Raiford won first place in Division II Boys Doubles. Marshall McIntosh won 4th place in Division I Boys Singles, and Lauren Dawson won 4th place in Division I Girls Singles. Teams playing in the tournament were Tyler All Saints, Belton, Centerville, China Springs, Corsicana, Franklin, Lorena, Mexia, Waco Midway, Waco Robinson, Rockdale, San Saba, Taylor, Thorndale, Thrall, Waco High School, and Whitney.

On Saturday February 26, the tennis team will travel to Leander High School and play Bellville and Waco Robinson in team tennis. At 8:00 a.m. San Saba will play Bellville, 11:00 a..m. Robinson will play Bellville and at 2:00 p.m. San Saba will play Robinson. This will be our final tune up in team tennis before the regional team tennis tournament in Leander on March 4-5. The tennis team will be trying to qualify for the state tournament for the 15

th year in a row.
