Armadillo Basketball Report
Thursday, February 24, 2011 • Posted February 24, 2011

The Armadillos ended their season with a road trip to Comanche on February 14. We came out pretty strong in the first quarter and shot the ball well and handled their press and trailed the Indians 22-24 after one quarter. In the second quarter, the Indians out-scored the Dillos 15-8 and took a 39-30 half-time lead. Comanche's press took its toll in the second half along with some good three-point shooting and Comanche won the game 78-49.

Leading scorer for the Dillos was Tucker Cromer, who had another Double-Double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Others scoring for the Dillos: Ryan Pannell, 10; Clayton Perry, 10; Jose Vega, 5; Luke Cox, 4; JT Mathis, Zack Davis and Tanner Hawkins, 2.

The Armadillos ended the year with a 12-17 record and 5-9 record in district play. This was the best district finish the Dillos have had in a long while. Tucker Cromer led the team in scoring this year averaging 13 ppg. Luke Cox was second with 9.3 ppg. Luke Cox led the team in steals with 2 spg. Tucker Cromer led the team in rebounds with 7.7 rpg. JT Mathis led the team with assists with 4 apg.

The kids always played hard and did the best they could. We are looking forward to next year as we lose only two seniors and have 7 lettermen coming back. With the addition of a few JV players who had a great season as well, we are looking for good things to happen next year.
