Sports has taken and does take up a lot of our headlines, but our kiddos are doing great things in the classroom too. On top of regular studies in a variety areas, students must also prepare for the state assessment. Students are busy preparing for the first TAKS test which occurs on March 1. Some of the extra instruction that is occurring includes individual tutoring on OFYP days, science tutoring by student tutors headed up by a contracted science liaison, tutoring during the day during challenge time, and use of online sites such as Study Island. Please make note of the TAKS testing dates and please make sure that your student is at school each and every day to prepare and especially on TAKS testing day.

A great deal of material is available in paper form and on the internet to assist students in preparing for the TAKS test. Please do not hesitate to call and ask for help.
