The weather has been very warm all last week and will be this next week if what the weather man says is true. Maybe a promise of rain-which is badly needed.

Found this little saying about the weather and thought it would be worth repeating, "The weather we gets is the weather we got, so we’re gonna have weather, whether or not."

Michael and Gennifer Brister attended a wedding for her cousin in Pideoke over the weekend. Monday Gennifer had the misfortune of taking a spell off of her horse and broke her tail bone. Her parent’s Tommy and Becky Grant along with her brother and his son Tye visited over the weekend.

Rufus Cobern went to the doctor in Fredericksburg and found that he had a broken rib that had been giving him so much trouble. Now that he knows what the problem is things should start to improve around the Cobern home.

Bernice Porter is in the hospital in Lampasas suffering from Pneumonia that is in one lung.

Louise Barefoot has been having a problem with her feet and hasn’t been able to get out much. And now she is in the hospital where they are checking to see if she is having problems with her gall bladder.

Helen Wright of Lampasas passed away this past week. She was the last aunt that OraBeth Hicks and Lewvon Hicks had. Her funeral was Sunday. Condolences go out to the families, she will be greatly missed.

The Bend Community meeting went off as scheduled, but very few people attended the meeting. The folks around the Bend should start to attend the meetings that are always on the third Saturday of every month. If attendance doesn’t pick up, the center may have to close, which would be a great loss to the community.

Lola Morris and members of her family attended the wedding anniversary celebration for Larry and Betty Morris in Lampasas Sunday afternoon.

Richard and Tammie Matsler came in over the weekend to spend some time at their cabin and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Happy birthday greetings go to Julia Lackey who will celebrate a birthday February 26 and to Patrick Henniger who will celebrate a birthday February 28.
