We have been enjoying nice, warm days for the past week. Some green is starting to poke through all the dead stuff but we still are in need of rain. It is in the forecast for later this week and we are sure hoping it gets here.

The 42 tournament was finally cancelled for this month. It had been postponed to last Friday night due to the passing of Butch Webb’s brother (not his Mother, as previously reported). Then, they received word that Donna Webb’s brother had also passed away. We send our sympathy to Butch and Donna and their families. Since the tournament was to be at Shiloh it was decided to cancel all together this month. It will be in Richland Springs in March.

Only seven of us showed up for the community meeting. The president, Jerald Weatherman, appointed a committee of three to make up the working committees for the upcoming picnic in May. Serving on the committee are Carroll Teague, Bobby Deeds and Jerald Weatherman. It was reported that we had some frozen pipes at the community center but all in all, were very lucky no more damage was done. There was a discussion about the need to paint the building as it has been about seven years since it was last done. On March 19th we will have the gospel singing at 7:00 PM. We welcome everyone whether they sing, play an instrument or just like to listen. Piano players are always appreciated. It is a hard night’s work if we only have one pianist!

Marilyn and I attended the funeral service for Janice Pruett Saturday in Early. Janice was a sister of Kitty Cummings and Nancy Bush. We extend our sympathy to her family. We got to see Wiley and Tara Cummings at the funeral.
