The Big Green Box
Thursday, February 17, 2011 • Posted February 17, 2011

Years ago I went to the local grocery store to pick up some supplies for the ranch and some for myself. The owner asked me if I wanted credit and I said," ok" and brought some extra things home. All I had to do was sign my name to a little piece of paper. He put that paper in a big green metal locked box. We started buying all kinds of stuff. Several months went by and one day the grocer said, "I need to talk to you. What are you going to do about these bills?" I was shocked to see all of those little pieces of paper my wife and I had signed. I looked at the total and told him I was sorry that I could not pay all of it at once. That event reminds me of something in the Bible. There is nothing in this life that does not go unnoticed by God. It is recorded whether it is good or bad, (Revelation 20:12-15& 22:12). Disobedience is a sin and someone has to pay for it, (Romans 3:23) The price is death or eternal separation from God, (Romans 6:23). But God loves us all and He provided for all of our debts,(sins) to be cancelled or paid for, (Romans 5:8). It was paid for by His own Son Jesus Christ at the cross, (Colossians 2:14). See you in Church next Sunday.
