Janice Pruett, age 58, of Early, TX passed away on Friday, February 11, 2011 at the VA Hospital in Temple, TX.

Janice was born on October 11, 1952 in Weslaco, TX to Oscar J. Simpson and Bonnie Tisdale Simpson. Janice proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy and was an LVN. Janice was also a member of Trinity Chapel in Early, TX.

Janice is survived by her son, Brandon Pruett and his wife Jennifer of Oklahoma; her step-son, Steven Beevers of Dallas; her daughter, Angela Hodgdon of Early, TX; her grandchildren, Lourie Nichole Pruett, Jaydon Pruett, Zachary Pruett and Dylan Hodgdon; her step-brothers, Jeffrey Bates and his wife Helen of Richland Springs, Daniel Bates and his wife Jennifer of Richland Springs; her sisters, Nancy Bush and her husband Roger of Locker, Kitty Cummings and her husband Charles of Locker; her step-sisters, Darinda Crosby and her husband Tim of Gatesville, Velita Smith and her husband Kenneth Powell of Richland Springs; several nieces and nephews.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Bonnie Simpson; her step-mother, Lou Bates Simpson; and her husband, James D. Pruett.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Trinity Chapel in Early, TX with Rev. Dan Chapmen officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00 PM till time of service. Interment will be at Locker Cemetery in San Saba (there will be no graveside service).
