Lady Dillo Basketball Report
Thursday, February 10, 2011 • Posted February 10, 2011

"Don’t Mess with Mother Nature" is a phrase I heard growing up and boy did she flex her muscle last week. Hazardous weather conditions threw a "monkey wrench" into District 6-2A last week. When the ice had cleared we were able to play Bangs this past Saturday in Dragonland. If you missed the game then you missed one of the greatest comebacks in Lady Dillo basketball history. We were down 15, let me repeat 15 points early in the fourth quarter but we came back to tie things up with about two minutes left in the game and came home with a 53-45 victory. Danessa Vasquez RAINED in some big 3 balls and then she got a steal and score which finally gave us the lead and we never relinquished it. Tarah Crosby iced the game with two big freethrows and Haylee Oliver kept us close as well scoring several big baskets during the last stanza to go with her game leading 27 points. Nessa tossed in 18 as well but her two big 3 balls seemed to energize not only the TEAM but also the crowd and lo and behold we pulled off a big one. We were only down one at halftime (21-20) but Bangs had a big third quarter to take a 40-27 lead to close out this period but the Lady Dillos scorched the nets for 26 points to propel us to victory. Johna Reavis had some big steals and rebounds during the fourth quarter which were instrumental in getting us back in the game. When this article comes out our District games will be done. The only thing left will be to see if we’re in a playoff. Comanche controls their destiny. If they win their last two games then they go as the third place representative. Us and Early are a game back with big games left on Monday and Tuesday. It’s a helpless feeling needing help but we’ll cross our fingers and see what happens. There are two SHOUTOUTS this week. The first goes to our awesome fans. You guys were loud and proud this past Saturday in Bangs and are greatly appreciated. My second SHOUTOUT goes to my main man NATE. Have you guys

ever met a nicer man than him? When I go to G&R he brightens up my day. NATE treats people the way that we all want to be treated. Take a bow Nate, you’re a KEEPER my man. Our prayers are still with Raylee and hope she is recovering. Keep on Keep’n on as well!!! Phil 4:13 and MOE!!
