Due to the weather we had last week, we ended up playing only one game. After cancelling Bangs last Tuesday and rescheduling it for Thursday then cancelling Thursday and then cancelling Friday at Hamilton, we finally played Bangs on Saturday.
Things got off to a slow start for the Dillos. Bangs jumped out to a 17-7 lead in the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Dillos got back on track scoring and scored 17 in the second quarter, but Bangs answered with 24 points in the second quarter. Bangs took a halftime lead of 41-24. In the third, Bangs increased their lead to 54-32. Being down 22 points and going into the fourth quarter, most teams would have shut it down, but the Dillos went to work and out-scored Bangs 24-10.
The Dillos came up short, losing 64-58, but their effort was tremendous!
Tucker Cromer had a great game scoring 19 points with 9 of them coming in the fourth quarter. Luke Cox was consistent through the entire game scoring 15, and Zack Davis's three 3-pointers in the fourth provided a spark for the team. Others scoring for the Dillos were: Jose Vega and Ryan Pannell - 4, J.T. Mathis - 3, and Clayton Perry with 2. I was real proud of the way our kids fought to stay in the game. We shot the ball a lot better this game. That is something we have been struggling with for the last couple of games.
We will make up last Friday's game with Hamilton on Monday, February 7. We will host Coleman on Tuesday, February 8 and will host Hico on Friday, February 11.
