Winter Blast strikes San Saba County
Thursday, February 10, 2011 • Posted February 10, 2011

This past week saw some of the coldest temperatures in San Saba in a very long time. Ice, snow, and bone chilling winds kept everything in the deep freeze for days.

San Saba County's law enforcement, fire rescue departments and EMS were jumping all over the county, responding to motor vehicle accidents and one structure fire. Then, to top it all off, the State of Texas decides to cut the power on one of the coldest mornings and San Saba 911 and law enforcement are again thrown back into the wintery mix.

The cold spell also caused problems with busted water lines all over the county with some hit harder than others. The water breaks in the city were quickly handled by the city water department and no major water outages were reported for long. Yet, we have cleaned up and now it looks like the next system is upon us, so here we go again.
