On Thursday, January 20, 2011, the San Saba High School Power Lifting team competed in the San Saba meet. The team has increased in participant numbers from last year. This year we had 24 boys compete. The san Saba Boys team finished 1st out of 6 teams. This is the first time in school history for a power lifting team from San Saba to finish first in a meet. These boys are to be congratulated for this historic accomplishment.

We had about 100 lifters from 6 schools competing at our meet. 17 lifters that competed received individual medals for their acomplish-ments. We had a really good showing in the boys division and we had several lifters gain some valuable experience.

All of our San Saba lifters competed to the best of their ability and showed some really good totals for the first meet of the year and many lifters got 8 of their 9 lifts or better which is really good for the first meet.

We are extremely proud of the way our lifters competed at this meet, and we look forward to seeing them progress throughout the power-lifting season.
