The San Saba Lady Dillos went 1-1 last week losing to Hico (44-42) but rebounding to down Comanche (50-47). We lost both of these games in the first round to these teams and they were close losses so I figured that in the second round these two would be close affairs. Against Hico we started off well then got down ten but closed it to five to end the half.

The second half was back and forth as neither team had more than a five point advantage for the rest of the game. We played with a great deal of effort but came up short losing by two. We had a few breakdowns in the fourth quarter which were costly. Our next game with Comanche was a must win and we had to have this one to stay in the hunt for at least third place as far as the playoffs. We came out on fire and scored 18 points in the first quarter.

We had a poor second quarter but still managed to take a seven point lead in at halftime. We played well in the third quarter and actually had a fourteen point lead with a little over four minutes left in the game. Then, number 13 from Comanche got in a zone and almost single handedly shot them to a win. She hit four 3’s but we made some big freethrows down the stretch and pulled out a barnburner. Last Friday night was not for the faint of heart. When the paper comes out we will have played Early which will be another big one for us.

This Friday we play Dublin here. I’m very proud of our entire TEAM. The Lady Dillos are giving everything they have and then some. We need your help as far as support and cheering. There’s nothing going on in San Saba, America this Friday night so come to Armadillo Arena and cheer on our Lady Dillos.
