GED Test to be given at Gatesville High School
Thursday, January 27, 2011 • Posted January 27, 2011

The GED test will be given at Gatesville High School, February 8 and 9 in Room 22. You must register to take the test, Wednesday, February 2, Room 22 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. You need to bring your Texas Drivers License or State or Federal Photo ID, Social Security card, and $65.00. The candidate will also need to bring the ID to the test. Registration will take about 30 minutes to an hour.

If the candidate is 17, he/she needs to bring a guardian with him/her and also have withdrawal papers from the last school attended.

If you failed the test between 2002 and 2010 and need to retake one or more parts, each part costs $10.00 and it must have been six months since you took the test or have a letter from the instructor saying that you are ready to take the test. You will need to bring a copy of the previous test scores if you have tested before. If you are under 18, there are also other qualifications.

The test will be given at 5:15 p.m. on both February 8 and 9. You must attend both nights to complete the test. You must bring ID with you all three nights. Each night should take about 4 hours for testing.

If you are a new tester, there is one part of registration that needs to be done on-line at www.utk16.org/scoring (phone help line 512-475-9400, if needed). This is the first step toward testing. On the home page the candidate will find a large link entitled "GED TESTERS", click here for the GED Demographic Form in bold red text. Once testers click this link, they will find the clear, step by step instructions. If you are planning to take the test at Gatesville, be sure to use 0750 for the center number. The rest of the registration and paying to take the test must be done at GHS.

Please share this information with anyone that you think might be interested in taking the test. If there are other questions, please call Barbara Huntley at 865-8281 or 865-2460.
