2 CHRONICLES 7:14 "If My people which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sins, and heal their land."

This is one of the most comforting promises that can be found in your Bible and was spoken directly from the mouth of God. Promises from God never fade away and never become out of need. They are just as applicable to people of today as they were in the very instance they were spoken to the Corinthian people. God has spoken in harsh warnings many times to His own people when their living became so sinful it grieved Him. And when His warnings were rejected and ignored, disastrous punishment always followed which in some instances was stated to be without mercy.

The unusual troubles that are plaguing our nation and the entire world today just might be grieving God enough for Him to decide to punish again; unless we can believe His promise to the Corinthian people are still His desires for people to accept with vivid repentance. We are living in darkness if we do not see our nation and the world is turning from God's known ways. The list of how people are not showing God love, respect, praise and devotion would be far too long for this space to permit. If you pause long enough to give this serious thought, you may find an answer.

We have large stores filled with everything our flesh life can desire. It is so much it can consume all idle time and leave no time for Godly worship. Many are so greatly blessed, they feel they already have all they need and God's ability to give more is not needed. That attitude will always invite God's disappointment that can turn into anger and hurt to Him. Those are dangerous words.

Stop long enough to think about it and know, Thess. 5:2-3 "The day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. When they think peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them." This is not being written to show Christ will return when least expected as much as it is to show God will not fail to punish sin when it becomes serious enough to anger Him. The sins of our nation and the world are rapidly setting the stage to reveal the nations are lining up exactly as the Bible foretells to be seen at the end. We have already entered the latter days, and the battle of Armageddon may soon erupt between the Muslims and Christians. World repentance is overdue and badly needed. If unwanted events began to punish our Nation, please do not criticize God; He is still a merciful God of pure love. It is wise to praise Him and worship only Him.
