Funeral Mass for Phillip J. Martinez, age 64, of Brownwood was held Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 2:00pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial followed in the Clear Creek Cemetery. A rosary was held on Monday January 24 at 7:00pm at Blaylock Funeral Home. He passed away Friday, January 21 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Phillip was born January 16, 1947 in San Saba, Tx to Doroteo and Socorro Jimenez Martinez. He was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, a member of the St. Mary’s Men’s Club and he worked with the Boy Scouts, being a former Scout Master. He retired from 3M.

Phillip is survived by his wife, Juanita Martinez; son, Jesse Martinez and wife April of Carrollton, TX and daughter, Margaret Uvalle and husband Rafael Jr. of Brownwood, TX; five grandchildren, Kellie, Tony, Elida, Esteban and Josie; two brothers, Abe Martinez, Daniel Martinez and wife Sue; one sister, Herminia Rojas and husband, David.

Phillip is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Knights of Columbus Council 3867.

Services have been entrusted to the care of Blaylock Funeral Home.
