Dear Editor:

I heard that someone wanted to stop Texas from receiving federal medicaid. Perhaps that person does not have a loved one who depends on medicaid.

Our lawmakers need to see that our aging and disabled are important and should not be neglected. If our lawmakers knew how short staffed the nursing homes, state supported living centers and group homes are and how the care giving staff are under paid, they would raise the pay rates of all care giving staff and pass laws to assure that there is an appropriate staff to resident ratio "by the residents individual needs" and not by the profitable needs of the facility and/or staff.

Please help and contact our state representatives and senators as well as our US congressmen and senators. God bless all our care giving staff!

Dear Editor:

Several weeks ago there was an article in the paper about San Saba football players. The article said that I had played three years with the Houston Oilers. I did sign with the Oilers but only played in three exibition games and then only for a few downs each game.

I guess the highlight of my very short experience was being in the same huddle with George Blanda.

Thanks for letting me clear this up.

Sincerely,

Wilbur Aylor
