Eric Morgan named San Saba Firefighter of the Year
Thursday, January 20, 2011 • Posted January 20, 2011

At the first meeting of the New Year, the SSVFD held its annual elections. They also honored the fireman they felt did an outstanding job of working the fire scene with his fellow firemen and representing the SSVFD in all its other functions. Eric Morgan has only been with the Department for a couple of years, but because of his hard work and dedication, he has become a true public servant and an excellent fireman. He works well as a team member and he never fails to perform his duties. He is a great asset to the Fire Department as well as the City and County of San Saba. If you see Eric out around town, please thank him for a job well done.

This year the SSVFD voted to amend the bi-laws so that its officers serve for two year alternating terms. This will allow any new incoming officer the benefit of working with an Officer that has a minimum of one year of service. Chris Stewart was re-elected as Chief, Robert Carroll was reelected as Assistant Chief, Eric Morgan was elected Secretary-Treasurer, and James Jones was elected as Chaplin. Les Hammett is the Safety Officer and the Captains are Johnnie Shahan, Mike Eden, Jack Blossman, and Chris Krueger.

The whole Department would like to thank all the citizens of San Saba for their years of support, and to wish each of you a great 2011.
