Safe Holiday Season reported
Thursday, January 6, 2011 • Posted January 6, 2011

During the holiday season this year, Sheriff Brown reported that there were no fatality crashes on our roadways, in San Saba County. Sheriff Brown also reported that there has not been a DWI arrest in San Saba County since the 20th of November, which was right before the holidays kicked off. Sheriff Brown stated, "We have slowly but surely seen a decrease in alcohol related arrests during the last two years, and this holiday was proof of that. There are several reasons for this, one being an increased presence by law enforcement, but the other is the community's reaction to drinking and driving crimes. Individuals are partying smarter, calling in and reporting intoxicated drivers and using designated drivers or watching how much they are drinking before they drive. This is a win win situation for all of us here in the county."

The Sheriff's office would like to thank everyone for helping to keep this a safe and wonderful holiday season and starting the New Year off in a positive way.
