Mark 10:21: "

Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, "One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me."

The Rich Young Ruler went away sorrowfully. The price had been too much to ask. It may not be money or possessions that keep us from obeying God. It may be selfish pride and sin in our lives.

He came for eternal life and went away without it. He kept his riches, but he lost God’s real treasure. God is merciful and willing to save you. Turn to Christ, He will save you.
