On December, 29th 2010, Jesus Marin Martinez was killed in an accident involving heavy equipment off of CR 115. San Saba County EMS and Sheriff's Deputies responded and the victim was transported to Llano ER where he was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace, Alexander.

The Sheriff's Office concluded their on scene investigation and no wrong doing was found.

Federal Mine inspectors from Mine Safety and Health Association (MSHA) were contacted by an unknown source and are currently conducting onsite investigation of the mine and safety issues.
