David R. Wallace

David R. Wallace passed away Sunday December 26, 2010 at his son’s home in Early, Texas. David was born March 24, 1948 in Brady Texas to Rodney and May Tyler Wallace. He was reared in San Saba County, Texas. On February 16, 1991 he married Wanda Parks in San Saba, Texas. He was a member of the San Saba Volunteer Fire Department for a number of years. For the past four years he and Wanda have lived in Comstock, Texas where they owned and operated a restaurant.

David’s hobbies were hunting, fishing, collecting guns, and spending time with his grandchildren. He worked for GTE and Valor telephone companies where he retired after thirty years of employment. For the past three months David has battled cancer.

David is survived by his wife, Wanda Wallace of Comstock, Texas; sons, Keith and Robin Wallace of Locust Grove, OK.; Joe Bill Wallace of Joshua, Texas; David Lee and Ginger Wallace of Odessa, Texas; Bubba and Allisha Wallace of Early, Texas; his daughters, Sissy and Thomas Leal of Carrizo Springs, Texas; Cristi Parton of Fairfield, Texas and Cindi and Jeff Rust of Cisco, Texas. He is also survived by his brother, Tye Ray of San Antonio, Texas and twenty four grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

A gathering for family and friends will be held on January 8th starting at 4 p.m. at David Gilger's cabin, 1 mile north of San Saba on Hwy. 16. Signs will be posted.
