Alex Moore

Alex Moore, 85, of Jacksonville, TX passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at the East Texas Medical Center, in Jacksonville TX.

Alex was born on February 15, 1925 in San Saba, TX to Alex Enoch Moore and Cornelia Clark Moore. After graduating from San Saba High School in 1942, Alex joined the United States Air Force where he served as a radio/gunner on a B-24 Bomber and was stationed in Italy. After proudly serving his country, he was discharged in the fall of 1945. Alex and Mary Aline Johnson were united in marriage one year later on February 2, 1946. They both attended Tarleton University after their marriage. Alex was a pioneer in the Plastic Molding Industry. He worked as a tooling Engineer with Home Plastics in Fort Worth, TX, Continental Plastics in Okalahoma City and Nicholas - Keesan in Jacksonville, TX from which he retired in 1995. Alex and Mary bought, sold and restored antiques in their "Care Patch Antiques" business until 2003. Alex was a member of the South Side Church of Christ and was a fifty year member of Fort Worth Masonic Lodge "1331".

Alex is survived by his wife, Mary A. Moore of Jacksonville, TX; his nephew, Mike Johnson and his wife Windy of Salt Lake City, UT.

Alex was preceded in death by, his parents, Alex Moore and Cornelia Moore; his son, David Paul Moore; two sisters, Irene Millard and Hazel Murray.

Services were held on Monday, December 27, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the South Side Church of Christ in Jacksonville, TX with Phillip Strong officiating. Interment was held at the San Saba Cemetery in San Saba, TX on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 2:00 PM with James Johnston officiating.
