Bend-Chappel EE Club Christmas Party

The Bend-Chappel Extension Education Club held its annual Christmas party at the Bend Community Center on December 13, 2010.

All the traditional practices were observed, which included welcomed guests, a gift exchange, secret pal revealed and a wonderful meal.

A report was given about the charitable activities of the club. Four names have been selected from the angel Tree and gifts purchased. Two boxes have been sent to soldiers in combat.

In a special program, a Certificate of Recognition was given to each club member. The certificates included the number of years each member has been in EE club. The years ranged from one to sixty-four years.

Among the certificates of recognition given were: The Hostess with the Mostess, Miss Congeniality, Faithful Supporter of the 4-H Youth Fair, Best Santa to Needy Families, Our Loyal Yearbook Planner (11 years), Our Grand Champion Pecan Food Show Baker, Pecan Show Friend and Helper, Best in Show Cultural Arts Award Winner at State Contest, and to Carolyn McDowell: Twenty-two Years of Valuable Service to San Saba County.

A well deserved award of recognition was given to Margie McDowell for 4-H Mentor Through Three Generations. Margie was delegate to fifteen State Meetings. She was selected Texas Treasurer, District 7 in 2006. She has been a faithful participant in all club and 4-H activities for 64 years.
