The San Saba Ladies Golf Association held their annual Christmas Party at the San Saba River Golf Course Community Room on December 10, 2010 with fifteen members present: Betty Ann Johnson, Shirley Hardin, Becky Hardin, Bobbie Churchill, Sandee Hartley, Janet Hoyt, Nell McHorse, Dorothy Sterner, Jo Ann Snow, Priscilla Muse, Bette Odom, Hattie Rogers, Jo Anne Hardy, Debbie Lee, and Anita Miles.

Jo Anne Hardy did such a great job of decorating the room with beautiful Christmas poinsettias and red table cloths and a Christmas tree. It was so festive and set the mood for the party.

The President, Anita Miles, welcomed the ladies and quoted some antidotes regarding golf and read a poem that all could identify with. Bobbie Churchill then presented the president with a gift certificate in appreciation for serving as the president for another year. Then the Club Chaplain, Nell McHorse, blessed the food and praised the Lord for all our many blessings. She announced that the ladies had contributed $200 to give to the Ministerial Alliance. This is an annual tradition. The president gave an update on Pat Ribb who has been in the hospital, but is now home recovering. Pat was missed, as even though she can’t play golf she joins in on all our events and is a part of the association.

The meal was also a tradition of prime rib, baked potatoes, fruit salad, vegetable salad, green beans, rolls, and strawberry pie. Betty Ann always caters our events and last year we made her an honorary member of the organization. She is such a joy to work with and always goes the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect. She was accompanied by her handsome grandson, who was her right hand man and helped serve and assist.

After the delightful dinner the ladies played games and visited and the room was filled with the Christmas spirit, as it should be. Here’s hoping that your holidays are bright and filled with happiness. So we’ll be happy and play games and stay warm because we know it won’t be long before we’re back out there "swinging!"
