Our New Grandchild
Thursday, December 16, 2010 • Posted December 16, 2010

My wife and I were blessed with the arrival of a new grandson several months ago. I enjoyed very much watching mother and new baby together. She got up early in the morning and worked in the kitchen. She had a little crib close by and she talked to him and he made funny little sounds back to her. It is amazing the bond that is developing between them and the love relationship they have. As I watched him in his little crib kicking and smiling I wondered what his future will be? Our newest grandson reminds me of something in the Bible. I wonder what Mary thought when she was informed by the Angel Gabriel that she would have a child? She had lived in a way that pleased God very much and as a result He was going to bless her in a special way, (Luke 1:26-35). She was going to have a baby but no ordinary baby, as He was to be the Son of the Most High, (The Son of God) and His name was to be Jesus, (Matthew 1:18-25). He was going to be a King and would save people from their sins, (Luke 2:10&11). The Bible does not say much about the early years that Mary spent with her son but we know she loved Him and tenderly cared for Him, (Luke 2:7). See you in church next Sunday.
