The 55th annual San Saba County Pecan Food Show was held December 3rd at the Court House. Eight judges from neighboring counties chose Imogene Hawkins’ Pecan Pralines as the Club division Grand Champion. Winnie Lou McCoury’s Pecan Citrus Spice Cake took the Reserve Champion honors.

In the Non-Club division Kathy McEwin’s Old Fashion Pecan Pie was given the Grand Champion rosette and Janice Bates took the Reserve Champion rosette with her Spiced Pecans.

Hollee Ragsdale, who had several entries this year, was able to take both the Grand Champion and Reserve Champion honors in the Youth Division. The Grand Champion rosette went to her Chocolate Italian Cream Cake. Her Everything Sweet Cookies were the Reserve champion. All of these winners and the recipes that were shared will appear in the 2011 Pecan Show Champions Cookbook.

All of the other adult division entrants were entered into a drawing for door prizes. Debbie Pollard won a Sisters’ Country Store gift certificate. Debra Cummings won a Sugarbaker’s gift card and Charlotte Spence will be having lunch courtesy of the Courtyard at Millican Pecan Co. The youth division participants all received Sonic gift cards.
