The weather was windy Wednesday until night fall, then Thursday it was on the cool side and Friday sunny but cool and Saturday it was down in the twenties, but warmed up after the sun came out. All in all it wasn’t just a bad week except there was not a drop of rain which is still badly needed.

The home of William and Jane Clark was a beehive of activity this past week. Some of the children started coming in Wednesday. The family celebrated Thanksgiving at the "Old Brister home place." Emerson and Gladys Brister hold a Thanksgiving celebration there every year for family members. The Clark family along with some of the Brister family enjoyed being together for that.

A fish fry was held Wednesday night to celebrate the birthday of Boyd and Silas Clark.

Friday night in the home of William and Jane Clark the cousins met for a celebration with 31 members attending. A birthday celebration was also held for Vanessa McChesney on Friday night. The one dark spot on all the celebrating was that Elsa Dean Shirley’s grandson Timber Rogers had to be taken to the emergency room because he was having difficulty breathing because of allergies. Then on Saturday night they celebrated an early Christmas celebration with 39 family members of the late Edmond and Elsa Henniger family. Family members who attended came from New Mexico, Taylor, Claude, Lubbock, Round Rock, Llano, Bend, Chappell and Lometa.

Jamie, A.J. and Andrew Houdyshell left Tuesday for New Mexico to visit relatives and returned in time to celebrate with family on Saturday.

Jackie Brister, Gene Brister and Steve Raeaz have gone on a trip to Kansas to get a large deer. It seems the deer there are much bigger than the deer around here.

Rufus and Tommye Cobern had family who came in for Thanksgiving. They were Jeffery, Tanya and Ashley Chalfant from Cedar Park, Kerry Marley of Katy and Vickie Lee, David and Garret Peters from Duncanville. Sorry to report that Rufus was ailing over Thanksgiving, but had recovered and felt well enough to attend church Sunday. His son Rusty Cobern and son-in-law David hunted with bow and arrow Saturday but wasn’t able to get a deer.

The hunters that were hunting on the Stinnett place got a nice nine point buck and a big doe to take back home with them.

Everyone needs to keep Brooke Stinnett in their prayers as she is having a difficult pregnancy and is in need of prayer.

Larry Max, Donna, Trent and Daniel Hensley of Midland came in Wednesday to visit and spend Thanksgiving with Bill and Jo Price. They tried their hand at fishing and caught a variety of fish. Black Bass, crappie, yellow catfish and channel catfish, one carp and a large gar. It was more than enough fish for a big fish fry Saturday. The weather was cold, but the fish were biting.

Happy birthday wishes go out to Tennyson Gary who will celebrate a birthday December 3, to Lewvon Hicks who will celebrate a birthday December 5, to Chee Chee Brockman and Sylvia Stinnett who will be celebrating their birthday December 7, to OraBeth Hicks and John Hicks who will celebrate a birthday December 8, Jimma Hicks whose birthday is December 9.
