Still no rain up our way and we sure do need it.

We were absent with the newsletter last week because there simply was not any news.

I spent last weekend with Lanell Parson and family in Bangs. It was fun watching little Hannah and her new kitten.

Marilyn Suber celebrated her birthday on the 19th by having the knee replacement surgery as planned. Surgery on Friday and home on Monday and she has been improving every day. She would like to thank everyone for their calls and cards. We’ll let you know when she plans to come back to Hair It Is.

At the community meeting last Saturday night, plans were made for the annual Christmas program. It will be on December 18th at 7:00 pm. Gloria Weatherman and Monica Edmondson will be in charge of the program. Bobby Deeds will lead the singing and everyone is asked to bring finger foods. I hear Santa might drop by. Please come and join us for an old fashioned good time. The decorating of the Christmas tree will be Thursday, the 16th, at 4:00pm.

We celebrated Thanksgiving at the home of Rex and Amy Tucker in Brady. Roger and Martha Tucker were there from San Angelo; Myrta Overby from Montana; Marilyn, Michael and Bethany Suber and I; Rex, Amy, Jaxon, Georgia and Jesse Tucker. After a good lunch we enjoyed visiting, games of 42 and football games on TV. Alvin Bolton, a family friend, dropped in for a visit. We missed the Elizondo family but they were in Del Rio with the other grandparents.

The Richland Springs Coyotes beat Jonesboro last week then went on to defeat Calvert 66-58 last Friday night. What a nail biter! The boys will face Milford this week in Comanche for the semi-final game. Good luck Coyotes. Let’s go all the way to state!

We were sorry to hear of the passing of Jimmy Wyatt. Services were held for him Monday at the Richland Springs First Baptist Church with the burial at Varga Chapel cemetery. Jimmy grew up in our community. We send our sympathy to the family.

Mildred Weatherman is out of the hospital in San Antonio and in a nursing home. We send her our best wishes.

We were sorry to hear of the passing of Gene Wood. His services were held Sunday afternoon here at the cemetery.
