We had a wonderful thanksgiving with all the friends and family and food and time together. We were so blessed but it got real interesting in meal preparations around our house. Everyone had to help or was given a certain job or assignment. I remember walking through part of the house and into the kitchen and seeing someone working on a task and others, maybe two or three working together on a particular project. Seeing everyone busy and working together and having a enjoyable time reminded me of something in the Bible. Many Christians and lost people have the wrong idea about Salvation. They may think all I have to do is wait for God to bless me financially, give me good physical health, no major problems and then one day beam me up to Heaven. That is not what the Bible teaches. "We are saved to serve!" God wants us to honor Him and obey Him but He also has jobs or tasks or assignments for us and it has been that way all the through the Bible, (Exodus 23:25, Deuteronomy 11:13-15). We see that with the Disciples when they were with Jesus. They helped feed people, ran errands and did whatever Jesus asked them to do, ( Mark 8:6) Our service is willingly not by force and to honor God, (2 Timothy1:3, Hebrews 9:14). Deuteronomy 10:12&13 sums it up so well. See you in Church
