Salvation Army supports San Saba County

San Saba County: The Salvation Army will again be working this Christmas season to raise money in order to meet the needs of hurting people in San Saba County. The red kettles will be out in larger towns and cities across the nation, but here in San Saba County, they need your help too.

This year we have helped approximately 50 families in San Saba County. We would like to say "Thank you" for you donations.

There is still a great need in San Saba County. The funds we raise are used all year long. We need your assistance to help the citizens of San Saba County. Every donation is greatly appreciated.

The Salvation Army is so closely associated with the Christmas season; many people don't know that their work is a year round commitment. In more than 115 countries, in all 50 states and all across the State of Texas. The Salvation Army continues its mission of service to people in need.

Even in the smaller towns The Salvation Army has a presence. As more than 250 small and/or rural towns in Texas, in San Saba County there is a Salvation Army Service Unit run by local volunteers with the assistance of a Salvation Army regional representative. These volunteers work within the community to offer services such as emergency disaster relief and limited assistance with rent, prescriptions, utilities and travel expenses. The service unit is able to refer people to the larger programs of the Salvation Army in cities across the state, such as drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers or emergency shelter.

The San Saba County service unit Treasurer is Glenda McGehee, Chairman is Deborah Cummins and Member is Billie Jeanne Amthor.
