Dear Editor:

I would like to thank everybody for their support this football season.

It takes everybody to be successful and I want everybody to know how much I appreciate this community for their support. I want to thank the parents, teachers, administration,SSISD, city of San Saba, all the businesses, and all of those that supported us this season. From ads for the program, buying for the fundraiser, attendance at games, spaghetti madness, booster club, sandwich club, coffee with the coach, downtown pep rallies, all of you are not only a part of the program, you are a part of these kids memories.

I would like to especially thank, the Golden Armadillo Band, the Drill Team, and the Cheerleaders. These groups along with their awesome sponsors make Texas high school football what it is.

I want to publicly thank our coaching staff, they are the best in the business and I am thankful our kids get to play for them. Lastly and the reason we are a solid program, I would like to thank our players all 52 and our 4 awesome managers. Their dedication to the rest of us makes DILLO BALL what it is.

The seniors are leaving with great accomplishment and great memories. We will have 16 returning lettermen. 9 starters on offense and 6 on defense, and look forward to another great season. Thanks again and remember WE ARE SAN SABA TAKING THE NEXT STEP TOGETHER.

Jeff Pannell Head Football/Athletic Director San Saba High School

Dear Editor:

San Saba City Council's recent meeting to investigate alleged wrong doings by the Sheriff's Department was the most ridiculous and laughable thing I've heard of in a long time. It took almost an hour and a half of executive session behind closed doors for the Council to realize they have absolutely no authority over a county sheriff (he doesn't work for the city) and decide to turn the complaints over to the D.A. They would have been better off if they had investigated the actions of the City Manager and his local police force who refuse to do their job when it comes to arresting drunks and drug peddlers, forcing the Sheriff's Department to do what the city won't. Sheriff Brown is doing an outstanding job, and he and his deputies are owed a tremendous "Thank you" from all of the citizens of this county including the City of San Saba.
