Looking Forward
Thursday, November 25, 2010 • Posted November 25, 2010

It is that special time of the year again and we are looking forward to the holidays. Christmas used to be my favorite holiday but now it may be Thanksgiving. One reason is all the family tries to get together and the other is all the good food. We have been calling on the phone and each family member has a special dish they make and when you put them all together, WOW! What a meal. I try to find the time to think and reflect about all the wonderful blessings that I have received and enjoy. Like the wonderful county that I live and all the freedoms it provides, especially the freedom of worship or religion. Another blessing is the provisions of life that this country provides, (food, jobs, housing, etc). Then there is my family and that is a "biggie". One special and very important reason I am able to enjoy the season is because I came to know Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, (John 1:12). That has changed my whole perspective in life, (Romans 5:8-11). God has blessed this country in many ways for many years, May we not forget to thank Him for those blessings, (Psalm 50:14, 95:2-7, 100:4,116:17). Let us set one extra place at the Thanksgiving table this year and may it be for remembrance of whose hands all these blessings flow. See you in Church next Sunday.
