It is hot and dry! That is the way it has been for the past two weeks and more of the same is in the forecast. We only received 2 inches in May compared to 10.5 in May last year.

We have started yet another new month. Can you believe the year is almost halfway gone? The 42 tournament will be in Richland Springs on the 14th. The community meeting will be on the 21st and Marilyn and I will be the hostesses. The Busy Bee quilting day has been called off for this month since everyone is busy elsewhere.

I read in the paper that the San Saba boys baseball team lost out last weekend to Grape Creek. They had a great run at it and we are proud for them. Congratulations, boys.

We had a busy weekend. On Thursday, we went to Brady to Georgia Tucker’s graduation from kindergarten, then Friday night we attended Theron Parson’s graduation at Bangs High School where there were 69 seniors on the list of graduates. Theron’s guests were: his parents, Ken and Lanell Parson; Kelton and Hannah Parson, two grandmothers: Aldris Parson and I; and aunts, uncles and cousins: Rex and Amy Tucker and family, Marilyn and Bethany Suber, and Charlie and Kitty Cummings.

On Saturday night we attended the wedding of Billy Cummings and Sherry Haws at Brookesmith. If all goes as planned, we will travel to Abilene this Saturday to watch Theron play football at Shotwell Stadium, then go to San Angelo on Sunday afternoon for an engagement party for Stacie Smith and Santos Elizondo.

My doctor asked me today if I was staying active. That doesn’t seem to be a problem! I will admit I enjoy all of the activities and so far I have been able to keep up.
