San Saba ISD hosted the first ever MathFest on Thursday, October 28

Large Group Competition Results

(Students were all given grade content material. The contest manager would say a number on the test (1-30) and the student had to find the appropriate problem, work the problem and write the answer on a white-erase board and show it to the monitor. If the answer was correct, the student would earn a ticket. If the student was incorrect, the student would lose a ticket. All students started with 10 tickets).

th at the San Saba Civic Center. San Saba, Lometa, Lohn, and Cherokee ISDs attended the event. The Math competition had age divisions for 1st -8th graders. Many volunteers helped donate their time to help monitor the event and help with lunch. Many of the students that competed walked away with prizes and all left with an enriched enthusiasm about math! Below is a sketch of the results. Many students only left first names.
