Some of the deer hunters reported are that they got their deer, but some have failed and will be coming back again later on. It has been cool enough that the deer are out and about and there seems to be plenty of acorns this year and the deer seem to be taking advantage of it.

There is a chance of rain Thursday and Friday according to the weather forecast and it will be colder. It is hoped that the weather man knows what he is talking about, as rain is badly needed.

Haley Price the daughter of Robert and Spring Price has been going to Lampasas to play soccer and seems to be enjoying the experience.

Shelby Freeland of Canyon Lake has been visiting her grandparent’s Jane and

Tommie Tinney this week.

Condolences go out to Francis Hulgan and her family on the loss of her mother who was living in California passed away this week. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Bobby Clark of Round Rock was in over the weekend to get in some hunting, but sorry to say he returned home without a deer, but will be back in the near future to try again.

Diane and Charles Dowdy and children visited over the weekend with parents Phil B. And Winnie Lou McCoury. They got in some hunting and killed a four-point buck to take back home to Bryan.

A big birthday celebration was held at the Bend Community Center for Jack McDaniels. Around 55 friends and relatives attended to help celebrate his 80th birthday.

A. J. Houdyshell is a lucky youngster who gets to celebrate his birthday twice. Sunday a family birthday celebration was held at the home of his grandparents William and Jane Clark with members of his family attending. On

Sunday, November 14, he will have another celebration with some of his young friends from Lampasas who will help him celebrate.

Lola Morris reported that her son Phillip who had been in the Llano hospital was now recovering from surgery at home with his family. Everyone around the

Bend is praying that everything goes well with Phillip. The Bad Bob’s bait store isn’t the same without Phillip. The little group that meets, swaps stories and tells tall stories is just not the same without him.

A happy birthday goes to A. J. Houdyshell will be celebrating his birthday Sunday, November 14.
