It’s almost time for making this Christmas a little brighter for children-in-need by supporting our annual "Angels Unaware" program sponsored by the San Saba County Child Welfare Board. Shortly after Thanksgiving, they place a very old Christmas tree decorated with little "angels" in the atrium of the Arrowhead Bank building in San Saba. Each anonymous "angel" is numbered and has the age (up to sixth grade), gender, and needs of a known child. The children who receive the gifts are not in CPS custody; but they are those for whom it has been determined that Santa Claus will be needing a little help this year. "We greatly appreciate everyone’s past generosity, whether in providing a gift or helping in any way with the ultimate delivery of the gifts, and hope to have similar success this year," said Doug Suggs, CWB Board President. "This heartwarming project matches a local child to an anonymous donor to help spread the spirit of this season’s most miraculous gift."

Please take this opportunity to brighten a child’s holiday by this small act of kindness. Persons unable to go to the bank lobby and choose an angel from the tree or to select a gift thereafter may mail their request/donation to the board in care of Angels Unaware, P. O. Box 242, San Saba, Texas 76877 or give it to any child welfare board member. Gifts may be left in San Saba at the Courthouse or at Sisters’ Country Store, for delivery beginning December 21. A price limit of $30 was set to make the giving equitable and affordable.
