David L. Foster

David L. Foster,91 passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Eventide Nursing Home in San Saba, Tx.

David was born on August 16,1919 in Alice,Tx to James R. and Ethel Foster.

David and Margaret Womack were united in marrige on June 23, 1947 in Alice, Tx.

David trained female pilots " WASPS " for WWII in Sweetwater. He also trained pilots in New Mexico for Glider Pilots for D-Day. Among his various endeavors in public service David served as a board member of the Highland Lakes Baptist Encampment. He served on the Rio Grand Valley Childrens Board and the Johnson City School Board. He recieved a Soil Conservation award for his ranch in Johnson City. He was also a Deacon at the Baptist Church in Johnson City.

David is survived by his wife, Elaine Foster of Richland Springs, Tx; his son, David Lee Foster of Richland Springs, Tx; his daughters, Beverly Gunn and her husband Tom of Quitman, Tx; Pam Starr and her husband John of Richland Springs, Tx;his Grandchildren, Catherine Hardy and her husband Hayland; Amanda Sekour and her husband Bertrand; Ben Gunn and his wife Molly; Jessica Starr and Sarah Starr; Greatgrandchildren, Hope Hardy, Hayle Hardy, Hannah Hardy, Haven Hardy, Leo Sekour, Evelyne Sekour, Liberty Gunn and Adeline Gunn; sister, Dot Miller of Schulenburg, Tx and several Nieces and Nephews.

Services will be held on Thursday, November 11,2010 at 2:00 PM at the Richland Springs First Baptist Church with Rev. Max Copeland and Rev. Barry Fikes officiating. Interment will be at the Richland Springs Cemetery.

The family requests that all memorials be made to the Friendship Baptist Church in Marble Falls, Tx or to the Richland Springs First Baptist Church.

David is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jessie Foster, Dan Foster, Jim Foster; two sisters, Doris Foster and Dimple Foster.
