Ladies Golf Notes

The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met October 28, 2010 to celebrate Halloween and play golf. The October Chair, Becky Hardin, had an adorable Halloween cake and coffee that she served the girls at the RV Meeting Room before play. Several of the ladies had on their Halloween shirts and socks to begin the festive day. The ladies then held their play day with the game for the day being "Witches Brew", which was a pot that was made up by each lady putting in a penny for each putt of the day with the Low Putter for the day winning the pot. Jo Anne Hardy was the big winner with 28 putts! Dorothy Sterner and Becky Hardin tied for second place in the putting contest with 29 putts. The ladies decided to have this game every week as a side event similar to the chip in pot. Becky also gave prizes for Low Net with First Place going to Hattie Rogers, Second to Anita Miles, and Third to Jo Ann Snow. Anita also scored the Low Gross for the day and Becky chipped in to win the chip in pot and scored the only birdie of the day. Sandee Hartley had to withdraw. Nell McHorse and Bobby Churchill came for cake and fun and watched the play. It turned into a beautiful day on the links. We know our days are numbered for golf as old man winter is lurking in the wings, so we best be "swinging!"
