San Saba Elementary is racing through the 2010-2011 school year! We just finished with Red Ribbon Week, and the students were excited by all of the fun days planned to celebrate being Drug Free. We had a large number of students participating in the Mathfest event that was held at the civic center on Thursday, October 28, and are working to be ready for our UIL academic event that will be held in December.

When looking at your calendar and planning for upcoming events, please remember that we will have another elementary Reading Night on Monday, November 8 from 5:00 – 7:00. Reading Night is a time designated to reading with or to your child. We will open up a computer lab so that students can take AR tests and offer opportunities for you to check out additional books with your child.

On November 11, we will honor local veterans with breakfast and a program. Fourth grade students will provide entertainment, and San Saba Elementary can show our veterans the appreciation that we have for their service to our country. If you know a veteran that would be interested in joining us, please call the office at 325-372-3019 to let us know that you will be attending.

San Saba Elementary is a great place to be! If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please stop by the central office and pick up a volunteer form.

Have a great week!
