The Coyotes were stylish tonight, sporting pink ankle wraps supporting Susan G. Komen’s Breast Cancer Awareness. The ankle wraps along with the flashing feet of the Coyote Crew put on a dazzling show both offensively and defensively. No style points needed... 66-0 before halftime. The ninth time this season the mercy rule has ended the game... eight times at the half. The only offensive threat the Bulldogs could muster ended in a Pick Six by Denim Reeves for 60 yards. The fleet footed Denim Reeves again led the offense with his outrageously gaudy stat line, 4 rushes for 2 tds and 3 of 3 passing for two more scores and the interception return for 6 points. If you thought Brian Torres was just another pretty kicker, you would have changed your mind as you watched him freight train down the sidelines for 44 yards and then later score on a 25 yard run. Speedsters, John Greenwood and Chance Bush, proved again that they could be plugged in at any time and score for Coach Shawn Rogers’ spectacular offense. John Greenwood had one rushing attempt but it went for six and delivered on a nice catch and run for 53 yards and a touchdown. Bush had two runs, one for a touchdown. Ben Vancleave had a fabulous catch for 39 yards and scored on another catch. Franky Soto was perfect at 5-5 in PAT tries for 10 points and Brian Torres kicked three over the fieldhouse for six points.

Defensively Head Coach Jerry Burkharts’ pack was swarming the ball carriers like angry hornets. Twelve Coyotes registered tackles or assists. Stephen Thornhill led with 4 tackles and 4 assists. Danny Tillery added three tackles and 4 assists. John Greenwood was 2 and 2. Stephen Fowler had 1 solo tackle and 3 assists. Tommy Hollon had 2 solo tackles one for a 2 yard loss and an assist. Ben Vancleave had one solo tackle and 2 assists. Chance Bush was 1 and 1 and added a fumble recovery. Brennen Mcginty had 3 assists. Franky Soto was credited with two assists. Elbert Thomas had one solo tackle and Denim Reeves and Gunner Mann each had assists. The Coyote defense also was credited with a safety for 2 points. Yep, the boys were plenty stylish in their pink flashing footwear. 10-0 is pretty stylish too.

The Coyotes have the rare last week "bye" this week and will have to wait until Friday to find out their first round opponent in the playoffs. It will be either Calvert or Buckholtz. Congratulations to the Richland Springs coaches and players for a fine season 10-0 overall and 4-0 in district and good luck in the playoffs.
