SS EDC approves resolution supporting Sheriff's Dept. investigation

The Economic Development Corporation of San Saba conducted a special called meeting Wednesday, October 27th at 1:30 p.m. at the City Hall. President, Owen Parks, called the meeting to order, announced a quorum present and gave the invocation.

The meeting had one item on the agenda:

1. Discuss and consider approval of resolution that the San Saba City Council request that the San Saba County Sheriff’s Department be investigated for official misconduct.

President Parks confirmed with City Manager, Stan Weik, that Weik had met with the District Attorney. No details about the meeting were disclosed.

Cynthia Weatherby stated that because of so many allegations and complaints there was an obligation to find out if they were true.

Gale Ivy made the motion to approve the resolution and Cynthia Weatherby seconded the motion.

Four members voted yes, and one member abstained. The members voting yes were: Gale Ivy, Martha Leigh Whitten, Owen Parks and Cynthia Weatherby. Otis Judkins abstained. The two members absent were Leigh Ann Glaze and Marsha Dyer.

The resolution was signed by the members followed by President Parks adjourning the meeting.

Attending the meeting in addition to the Board Members were City Manager, Stan Weik; City Tourism and Development Director, Tony Guidroz and San Saba News & Star Reporter, Alice Smith.
