Thursday, October 28, 2010 • Posted October 28, 2010

Richland Springs Junior High beat Brookesmith Junior High 28-6 at Coyote Field last Thursday night. Execution was the key to this game as the Coyotes ran through their entire playbook and performed flawlessly.

Center Jeremy Martin triggered every play with near perfect snaps. Storm Teel, the sure-handed quarterback, handed off...pitched....and threw passes with precision all night long. Teel completed 5 of 6 passes, one for a touchdown, two for PAT’s. Teel added a point after run to complete his scoring line. Jacob Cohn had two nice runs for scores, 65 yds and 26 yds and caught one of Teel’s passes for a 32 yd catch and run and added a PAT run. Brandon Ferguson, again this week, was outstanding, scoring a touchdown, and adding two PAT catches. Tarrin Ballin caught a 24 yard Teel pass for a critical first down, his first catch of the year. Defensively Anthony Holt pestered the Mustang backs and forced several miscues in their backfield notching several tackles and a fumble recovery. Captains, Jacob Cohn and Storm Teel, rode herd over the Mustangs and kept them out of the endzone for most of the night.

The win brings the boys record to 6-2. The Junior High Coyotes will host Mullin JH this week at Coyote Field.
