Receipts totaled 2299 head for the week. The market was better toward the end of the week after the large increase in corn prices on Friday of last week with the USDA coming out with a bearish report on corn yields. Corn has moved from $3.50/bu to $5.70/bu just in a short period of time which has increased the cost of gain. The market had absorbed most of the info on the corn prices by the end of the week which saw stocker steers and heifers selling steady. Feeder steers sold steady and feeder heifers were $2 lower. Packer cows were $2 higher and packer bulls were $1 higher.
