Fifth grade students at Richland Springs will attend the Farm Safety Day in San Saba on Wednesday, Oct. 27 with fifth grade sponsor Sue Ransom. Fifth graders enjoy this yearly safety day camp to learn about farm safety. The Lake Brownwood Lion’s Club will again do free vision and hearing screening on October 27th for our elementary students in concert with school nurse Donna Adams.

The Richland Springs junior high will play Brookesmith junior high at Richland Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21. The Coyote junior high beat Lohn last week 25-6. The junior varsity played Garden City JV last week and were victorius 65-36. Congratulations to the junior high and jv athletes on their victories last week.

The varsity Coyotes (8-0, 2-0) will not play Friday, October 22nd. The Brookesmith varsity has forfeited their football game against Richland Springs. The junior high will play Brookesmith on Thursday at 6:00 at Coyote Field, and the Richland Springs Coyotes will play the Brookesmith junior varsity on Thursday at Coyote Field immediately afterwards. Again, there will be no game on Friday. The senior students, the Football Beau and the Football Sweetheart will be recognized immediately after the junior high game on Thursday. Bring your spirit, noisemakers, and come out and enjoy our young athletes in UIL competition. Be sure to give the cheerleaders a big thumbs-up for their efforts. The cool, crisp evenings have been great football nights.th Open House at the school The Open House starts at 6:00 p.m.

The varsity Coyotes defeated Lohn 46-0 in the 2nd district game last week.

Thanks to Gerald McKee and the San Saba Young Farmers for tagging the goats and sheep last Saturday for the San Saba County show and for the various state shows. The Young Farmers do a lot of behind-the-scene work to help our FFA and 4H students.

We have a great community, students, teachers and staff. It looks to be a great year at Richland Springs.
