Ozell Merritt

Ozell Merritt, 74, of San Saba, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at a local care facility.

Ozell was born June 2, 1936,in Archer City, Texas, to Lowell Norman and Gracie Byrd Norman. Ozell and Douglas Merritt were united in marriage on August 8, 2008 in Killeen, Texas. Ozell was a housewife.

Ozell is survived by her husband, Douglas Merritt; her children, Kenneth Brandon and wife Bobbie of Illinois; Ronnie Barker and wife Cindy of Comanche; Curtis Montgomery of Comanche; Jeffery Borners of Pampa; Sherrie Price and husband Floyd of Granbury; Connie Waddle and husband James of Granbury; stepsons, Richard Merritt of Austin; Robert Merritt of Austin; Raymond Merritt and lady friend Carmen Ortiz of Austin; 6 grandchildren,1 step grandchild; 7 great grandchildren; her sisters, Melva Wakefield of San Antonio; Annette Jones of Seagraves; Charisia Kline of Granbury; Rose Thompson of Granbury; and her brothers, Henry Norman of Lubbock; Odell Norman of Comanche. She is preceded in death by JoAnne Ward, Raymond Ward, and Berry Barker.

Services were held Monday, October 18, 2010 at 10:00 A.M at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel with Eastern Star Rites with Bro. Travis Sullivan officiating and Rev. Welton Watson assisting. Interment was held Monday, October 18, 2010 at 4:00 P.M at Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche, Texas.

A visitation was held Sunday, October 17, 2010 from 6:00 P.M- 8:00 P.M.

The family requests memorials be made to Richland Springs Order Of The Eastern Star.
