Thursday, September 23, 2010 • Posted September 23, 2010

On Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at around 10:00 a.m., Sheriff Brown, Chief Deputy Bill Price, Chief Ray Riggs and Adult Probation Officer Steve Burnett paid a visit to 806 West Taylor in an attempt to locate a subject on probation.

Sheriff Brown had received information, and on more than one occasion that several individuals were selling illegal narcotics from that residence. A short time later, Brandon Michael Lovingood was arrested for possession of marijuana >4 ounces, but < 5 pounds with intent to deliver.

Sheriff Brown stated that the actual amount of marijuana recovered was right at one pound and that scales and baggies were recovered, as well. Sheriff Brown stated, "This in no way puts a dent in the drug problem on our streets, but it is a good hit and lets them know that we are still out here."

Brown also stated that working with adult probation and their staff here in San Saba has become a new and aggressive tool in their fight to stem the illegal narcotics here in the county. Steve Burnett and Pat Wadsworth work closely with law enforcement to assure that those individuals on probation are toeing the line.

Sheriff Brown commented, "We thank those individuals who keep calling in tips. We do our best to get to all the information, so if we don't get there right away, please keep calling and we will act on the information as quickly as possible."
