It’s hard to believe it is already the fifth week of school. Time seems to fly by once school starts, as everyone is busy with a full schedule. An exceptional faculty and staff have a lot to do with the smooth start to the 2010-2011 school year. This year we have an 8 period day that allows for more elective classes, including added elective periods for math tutorials. The school day starts at 8:00 and ends at 3:36. Please drive slowly through campus at all times, and especially when picking-up or dropping-off schoolchildren. We also ask that drivers do not drive or drop-off/pick-up students at the gym or fieldhouse, as our students load/unload busses near the gym. For our students’ safety, we do not want traffic through this area during bus loading and unloading each day. Traffic to drop-off and pick-up students occurs in the paved area in front of the high school. Do not park in the lane between the cafetorium and the large oak tree, park in the parking lot to help keep traffic flowing smoothly. The safety of our children is our #1 concern.

Richland Springs School is requesting email addresses of parents in order to contact them about school events. Please contact Delores Mask at the high school with your email address.

The varsity Coyotes remain undefeated at 4-0 with a 54-6 halftime victory over Arlington Fellowship. The Richland Springs varsity will play San Antonio Feast at Richland Springs at 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 24th. Please note the earlier 7:00 start time. There will also be a 5:00 p.m. junior varsity game prior to the varsity game on Friday. The junior varsity Coyotes are 2-1 on the season. The junior high Coyotes are 1-1 on the season and will play Rochelle at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at Richland Springs. The cheerleaders are doing a great job of building spirit. Come out and support our young athletes in UIL competition.

Jill Brown, Robert Carroll, and Herminia Rojas gave of their time and talents to provide emergency service as needed. We have a great community, students, teachers and staff. It takes everyone working together to achieve success. Thanks for all you do!
