Wallace Creek holds EE Club meeting

The Wallace Creek Extension Education Club met Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the club house.

Lynn Blankenship called the meeting to order. She called roll, "Tell about one picture you brought from your scrapbook page."

Fran Hulgan gave the program on Scrapbooking. Fran gave the history of scrapbooking, shared her award winning scrapbook and how she constructed it. She also had some different ways we could make scrapbooks, with samples from Mary Jane Dennis. There are many items on the market today to make scrapbooks.

After the program, a long business meeting was held. Members paid their dues.

The Wallace Creek Ice Cream Supper will be held Monday, September 20 at the clubhouse at 6:00 p.m.

Monday, November 15th will be the Wallace Creek Thanksgiving Supper at 6:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Raffle tickets will be on sale starting September 20th on an Afghan made by Noma Fitzgerald. The money will be used to upkeep the clubhouse. See one of the members to purchase tickets.

The yearbook committee will meet September 30th at the Rylander Library to plan the programs for next year.

Instead of council meeting at the regular place, they will meet at the Wallace Creek Clubhouse at 10:00 a.m. with a covered dish luncheon.

October 15th will be Lunch and Learn with Kay Stewart giving the program on bread making. It will be held at the Methodist Church at noon. The lunch will be salads and sampling of the bread. Everyone is invited, see more details in the San Saba News and Star.

An art show will be November 6th at the Rylander Library, open to the public.

November 16th will be San Saba County Council hosting the District Training at the Methodist Church.

The meeting was adjourned.

Margie Osborn made everyone smoothies as refreshment. Those present were Lynn Blankenship, Doris Cates, Noma Fitzgerald, Imogene Hawkins, Marilyn Miller, Margie Osborn, and two guests, Loretta Cummins and Fran Hulgan.
