Anna Wilson, president, opened the first meeting of our new year, with the Club Collect being given by Anne McElroy, and Nancy Nelson doing Club Creed.

Attending were officers, Marcie Cooper, Connie Ballinger, Nancy Nelson and Rae Edwards.

Imogene Hawkins, Marilyn Miller, Bonnie Harkey, Carol Littlefield, Gail Brunner, Marcia Chown, Glynda Everett, Anne McElroy, Dorothy Miller, Debbie Shahan, Trish Warren, Becky Burgess, Trish Fullerton, Sherry Clarkston, with Mary Lee Calder, Librarian at the San Saba Library, guest speaker.

Marcie Cooper called roll, read the minutes, they were corrected and approved as corrected.

Under correspondence we received an invitation from Killeen Garden Club to help them celebrate their fifty year anniversary and also the club in Cameron.

Gayle, treasurer, gave a report.

Anna gave a report on the display for the courthouse.

A wagon was donated, wheels had to be purchased, this money came from donations by City National Bank, Arrowhead Bank, Commercial National Bank, Capital Farm Credit Ag, and Berkly Enterprises Inc. We thank them very much for their contributions. Bill Burgess, from Bend, is doing the welding on the wagon and we thank him also.

Thanks so much also for the many people who purchased Lasagna dinners from us in the spring, that money is and was used for the display at the Courthouse. The display will be up about the middle of October.

Also the garden and lawn at the club house is just wonderful, with the help of Farrell and his crew it will be so easy to keep it looking that way. We thank them sooo very much!!!

Trish Fullerton announced she will have our year books ready by the next meeting. All members please check out the info we have on you and if anything is wrong please let her know.

Gayle Bruner brought up the Home Tour. We are not able to have one this year due to no homes are available.

We have talked about having a Spring Garden Tour for years and she asked for discussion about having one next spring.

The ladies brought up the names of many local homes that have beautiful gardens. Anne McElroy showed pictures on her computer of a garden tour she took in Michigan this year and told us all about it. There was discussion by all and Dorothy Miller made a motion that we have a Spring Garden Tour in 2011. It was seconded by Marcie Cooper. The vote was unanimous. We will have further discussion and make plans in January.

Anna checked out the price of a unit for heating and cooling (a window unit). We will have to have 220 wiring installed.

Under New Business, there will be a board meeting before the next meeting.

Trish Fullerton told us about she and her mother adopting two soldiers in Afghanistan.

Items were mentioned that they needed and we are going to assist them in taking care of these soldiers.

Ella Burton-Pavich will be chairman for the District Fall Meeting here next year.

Connie introduced Mary Lee Calder, who very kindly had placed a variety of garden books on our various tables.

She informed us about the many library garden books and encouraged us to check them out. The program was enjoyed by all.

Trish Fullerton reported on her first garden and the fun she has had working in it.

Our lunch was delicious, as usual. Anna had made six quiches, Nancy Nelson made a huge beautiful fruit salad and Connie Ballinger made several different flavors of cupcakes. Wonderful, wonderful.
